Our Thesis

Capital for the New Frontier

Terra Nova is not discovered. It is built.

Intelligence is leaving the screen. Over the coming decade, much of the value it creates will come from intelligence put to work in the physical world: in machines that move and decide, in aircraft and the industrial base behind them, and in the power and compute everything else depends on. The most consequential companies will lead the re-industrialization now underway: on factory floors and flight decks, in power grids and supply chains, and at the edge of national security. SOJA invests at the moment that work becomes tangible.

SOJA exists to own a piece of that build-out, entered at the right price, beside the right partners, one company at a time.

We invest family office capital alongside tier-1 venture partners, and open that access to the partners who build with us.

01The Belief

The point of conversion.

Every frontier technology passes through one decisive moment: the crossing from demonstration to production. Before that inflection point occurs, a breakthrough is only a promise. After that threshold is crossed, the work becomes paid for, repeated, and relied upon, and the questions that matter most are answered.

Capital has already recognized the frontier; it has yet, however, to adequately price that crossing. We invest at that juncture: after the science has been proven, once customers begin paying for real work, and before the market has properly priced what that production means.

02Autonomy & Intelligent Machines

Intelligence, embodied.

For the past generation, software has changed the world without physically touching it. That is changing.

Machines that perceive, decide, and act are beginning to move from trials into paid shifts: on factory floors, in warehouses and logistics yards, and in the field. Labor scarcity, reshoring, and the falling cost of intelligence all point in the same direction.

We back the vertically integrated leaders that build the hardware, the models, and the deployments together, and that can demonstrate the actual work being done. Humanoids represent one recognizable expression of this paradigm shift; true autonomy across industry, logistics, and defense is the penumbra cast above it.

03Aerospace & Defense

The built frontier.

The industrial base of the United States and its allies is being rebuilt by companies that think in software and ship in hardware: autonomy for aircraft that fly without GPS, airframes designed to burn far less fuel, launch that has made orbit routine.

These are national priorities with commercial engines. We look for the companies whose contracts turn into production, where public conviction and private capital converge, domestically and across allied markets.

04Compute & Energy

The binding constraint.

Beneath every model, every data center, and every machine sits the same constrained supply of power and compute. Energy, not silicon, now sets the ceiling on how much intelligence the world can build.

The companies that deliver compute where that constraint binds, and that bend the curve through new architectures and new ways to supply power, will hold some of the most valuable positions of the coming decade.

05The Standard

Enter where the curve bends.

Every technology follows an S-curve. Returns are made in the bend: after the science is proven, before the market prices it in.

Our filter is simple, measured, and unforgiving. A category leader, because the crossing favors the company already ahead. A tier-1 lead already onboard, because the defining rounds are led by a small circle of investors, and we invest alongside those select few. A credible route to liquidity, because conversion becomes visible to the market well before a given cycle ends. Clean transferability, because ownership should be as sound as the company itself.

Every position is measured against all four tests; if a company does not clear our core pillars, it will not meet our standard for investment.

06How We Invest

Ownership, by design.

We built SOJA around a simple idea: the partners who invest beside us should hold what they choose, see what they hold, and have a say in when to let it go.

A dedicated vehicle for every position, so each co-investment partner picks the asset with conviction and commits capital one company at a time.

  1. 01

    Sourcing

Allocation access through tier-1 sponsors, leading venture firms, family office partners, and institutional secondary desks.

  2. 02

    Underwriting

A thorough analysis for every position, held against our core pillars.

  3. 03

    Structure

A dedicated Series for each investment, entered at the round price or at a discount where direct secondary relationships allow.

  4. 04

    Administration

Third-party fund administration and a real-time investor portal.

  5. 05

    Realization

Tender offers, secondaries, strategic exits, and IPO. No Series is funded before multiple routes to liquidity are in view.

07Reach

Frontier capital is global.

The frontier is financed from everywhere. Our partners are family offices and institutions across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, in more than 26 countries, and they bring more than just capital: customers, supply chains, and markets. From our main offices in New York, San Francisco, and London, we put that network to work for the companies we back.

The frontier rewards those who arrive at the right moment, underwrite with care, and stay for the build.
